Construction has one of the highest rates for injury and ill health among all industries in the UK according to the Health and Safety Executive. I advise not only on regulatory compliance, but review designs, planning documents and conduct site visits to ensure safe practice throughout the design and the construction phases. This ensures a safe building when handed over to the client. Whether working on behalf of the project client, designer or contractor, I provide guidance and information specific to the site including consideration of appropriate site access and working methods that are sensitive to the historic fabric and the realities of the location. I conduct regular site visits during construction to support contractor’s safe practices. I also offer toolbox talks and training in manual handling and first aid.
