From toolbox talks to risk assessments, introductions to the regulations to in-depth workshops for duty holders, I offer practical training to help you apply safe practices for the long term. I work with all levels of the industry, from one-on-one sessions to presentations at major conferences.

First aid training

Especially in high risk industries, I think it is best practice if a majority – or even all – workers understand basic first aid rather than relying on a few trained first aiders. In one commission, I helped a contractor with just four trained first-aiders working across seven sites. After a full first aid risk assessment, which included reviewing accident books, I compiled a comprehensive programme for the entire workforce of 40. Delivered during a series of half day workshop, every member of staff is now fully first aid trained.

Construction Design and Management Training

In 2015 I ran multiple training courses for the industry including all three duty holders under the CDM 2015 regulations. I was also asked to join the IIRSM CDM Roadshow presenting on the application of the regulations on smaller sites. Since that time I have delivered training to both private and public sector clients in the practical application of CDM Regulations on construction sites.

Other health and safety courses

Over the years I have been requested to run courses on different areas of health and safety management to varying audiences. These courses have included basic health and safety on site, risk assessment, workplace assessments, Temporary Works awareness and more. If you have a need, please get in touch. If we don’t have the skill in house we probably know the person who does.

We also conduct training by having informed conversations with the craftspeople on the scaffolding. I have found this works well as the trainee is in their comfort zone and can treat the training as a conversation – and the learning does tend to really stick.
